Spring is officially here and many folks are working on getting through their to-do lists that they’ve been making for warmer weather, all winter long! Whether you’re planning on traveling for spring break and want to try to get a few things done around the house, or, have spare time this weekend to tackle your to-do list, here are a few things you can do in one weekend to check off your list!
Clean Out Your Gutters
Now that the fall and winter months are behind us, your gutters might be due for a good cleaning before spring and summer storms head into our area. Cleaning your gutters is a great way to keep them and your home protected from the weather, and can likely be completed in one weekend!
Pressure Wash Your Walkways and Patio
If you have a pressure washer on hand, now is a great time to give your sidewalks and patios a good scrub! It might be a little too chilly to take on pressure washing the entirety of the exterior of your home, but a good scrub down of your walkways after a long winter will give your home a fresh look. While the weather is (decently) warm, a good cleaning may only take you a few hours to complete.
Wash Windows Inside and Out
Now that the weather is warm enough to crack open your windows, cleaning the windows on the outside might be on your list for this weekend. If your windows fold in to easily access the outside, set a few hours aside and clean them inside and out.
Stock Up on Batteries and Prepare Your Emergency Kit for Summer Storms
In Southern Maryland, seasonal storms can sometimes turn severe leading to power outages. Rather than being caught off-guard with them, prepare an emergency kit just in case. Build a kit with flashlights, extra batteries, a manual can opener, drinking water, and non-perishable food items. Having these items on the ready will give you a little extra peace of mind when severe weather hits our area.
