It’s a new year and with that comes new goals, resolutions, and visions for the upcoming months! Whether you’re working on your health and fitness, organization, or even time management, the list goes on with ideas of how to be a better you. But, what about your home? Although we’re still in the midst of winter, spring and summer will be here before you know it, and there are many ways that you can improve your home this year. Here are a few realistic resolutions to set and work on in your home this 2025!
Take 15 Minutes Each Day to Tidy Up Your Home
While it seems like there are never enough hours in the day to get everything done, and you may feel overwhelmed already with everything on your plate, making time to tidy your home each day may seem like a stretch and may add to your anxiety. But, taking 15 minutes each day to tidy up any clutter left laying around, make beds, and straightening up the kitchen may work wonders for your anxiety. Try setting a timer each day for 15 minutes and get as much done in that time that you can.
Create a List of Goals for Each Month to Complete Around the House
Decluttering your home, making home improvements, painting that old door, and even deep cleaning may seem like a mountainous job. But, breaking it down month-by-month may make that list just a little more attainable. Resolve to make a list of everything you can think of in your home that you want to get done. Then, break that list of those items into tasks to complete each month. January might be filled with cleaning out old clothes and shoes, and February might be filled with repainting your doors or even repainting a room. At the close of the year, you’ll have knocked so much off your “wish list”, and by spreading it out through the year, you’ll keep yourself from being overwhelmed.
Start Your Research Now to Get Large Spring and Summer Projects Completed
If you’ve been considering replacing your windows and doors during the warmer months or any other large home improvement projects, now is the time to start researching the type of windows you’re looking to install, the doors that you’re wanting to replace your old doors with, and the contractor you’re looking to hire if you’re not completing the project on your own. Getting a plan in place, purchasing the materials ahead of time and scheduling the work now for the spring and summer months will make the process easier to manage.
