Preparing for Your Easter Celebration

It’s almost Easter weekend and many families will be setting out on spring break to celebrate with family and friends out of town. If you’re hosting family this weekend for the holiday, now is a great time to start planning and preparing so that you can have a stress-free holiday. Here are a few ways you can prepare starting now, that will give you a head-start on hosting your guests.

Get Bedrooms and Bathrooms Ready
If you’ll have family staying with you from out of town, now is a great time to start getting their bedding and linens washed and set up ahead of their arrival, especially if they will be staying in a guest bedroom and using a guest bathroom that isn’t used on the regular. Preparing now will save you from having to prepare over the weekend.

Start Your Shopping Now
The closer we get to Easter Sunday, the busier the grocery stores will become. Start your shopping now and beat the rush. Any perishable items that you purchase now should keep in the refrigerator.

Start Preparing Your Food Items on Thursday and Friday
Thursday and Friday are great days to start preparing for your menu. Hard boiling eggs, boiling potatoes, and chopping vegetables are great ways to start your preparation for your Sunday meal. By doing these items ahead of time and refrigerating them, you’ll be able to start cooking earlier on Saturday or Sunday, and not have to worry about the preparation work.

Plan Ahead for Other Meals
While the big day is actually Sunday, many families will have guests in town that stay through the weekend. Make a meal plan ahead of time, purchase and prepare your foods (as much as you can), and leave the guess work out of hosting the family for more than just Sunday.
