Spring Cleaning Hacks for Your Home

Spring is right around the corner and we had a nice taste of some beautiful weather this week! With spring comes spring cleaning, and sometimes, it can be a bit overwhelming. Here are a few tips to help you get the job done and keep your sanity while doing it.

Focus on One Room or Project at a Time
While it may seem overwhelming to tackle your whole home in one day, or even in one weekend, set your sights lower and deep clean one room at a time. Clean the room you’re focusing on from top to bottom. Whether you’re dusting or cleaning the walls, the light fixtures, the windows and blinds, or just organizing closets and drawers, keeping focus in one particular area will help you get the job done efficiently and without stress. If you’re having a hard time focusing on just one room, focus on one project instead. Start with cleaning the windows of your home inside and out, and complete that project throughout your home.

Make a Wish List
Sure, we all want to have a spotless home, and work hard to keep up the necessary cleaning throughout the year. But, sometimes larger projects get pushed to the side while trying to keep up with the day-to-day. Make a wish list of all of the “extra” projects you’d like to accomplish this season and set goals of when you’d like to accomplish them.

De-Clutter Your Home and Donate Items You No Longer Need
Starting your spring cleaning tasks by decluttering items you’re no longer using will save you from having to work around the clutter when you really start cleaning. Take some time to sort through items you’re no longer using and make a pile to donate. By removing excess clutter from your home, the actual cleaning part will be easier if you don’t have to maneuver around excess items.
